This notice explains how Sapling Studios collects and uses your personal information when you visit thetreeandthebee.co.uk or sign up to hear about The Tree & The Bee. We keep things simple: we only collect what we need, and we never sell or share your details for marketing.

Who we are

Sapling Studios is the publisher of The Tree & The Bee and is responsible for your personal information (the “data controller”). You can contact us at hello@thetreeandthebee.co.uk.

What we collect

• Your first name and email address, when you sign up for the free colouring book.
• Email activity, such as whether our emails are opened or links are clicked, so we can tell what is useful.
• Basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, which our website host records automatically to keep the site secure and running.

We do not ask for, and do not want, any information about children. The sign-up is intended for parents, carers and other adults.

How we use it

• To send you the free colouring book you asked for.
• To tell you when The Tree & The Bee launches, and to send occasional updates about the book.
• To keep the website secure and working properly.

Our legal basis

We send you emails because you have given us your consent by ticking the box when you signed up. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email, or by emailing us. Technical information is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted services to run the website and our emails. They only process your information on our instructions:

• MailerLite, which stores our mailing list and sends our emails.
• IONOS, which hosts this website.

Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where this happens, they use recognised safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect it. We never sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your name and email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. After you unsubscribe, we may keep your email address on a suppression list only to make sure you are not contacted again.

Cookies

This website uses only the essential cookies it needs to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this notice and ask for your permission first.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
